Hello! My name is James Reginald Ladgove, You can call me Jimmy though. I was born in Albury, New South Wales, Australia on the 15th of December 1990. I am currently 29. I am 1 of 6 (3 brothers 2 sisters) and was raised in a tiny town/village called Chiltern in Victoria with a population of just over 1,000 people. I went to St Joseph Primary school, Chiltern. There was 60 people in the whole school. In year 6 I was school captain. I had a 1 in 3 chance of getting it. I went to 3 High schools, Rutherglen High, Wangaratta High & Albury High. I dropped out of Albury high at year 10. At the age of 14 I started my first job at Blockbuster video. I worked my way to assistant store manager by the age of 17. I then got a job at JB HIFI (selling gadgets), I then got a transfer to Melbourne at 18. By 19 I was studying Screen & Media full time at TV School in North Melbourne. I got sponsored to go and work in the USA at 20. I moved the week I turned 21. I spent 14 months working in San Fransisco & Los Angeles. When my Visa expired, I moved back to Australia. I worked solidly for a year at the Australian Tax office & my parents pub to save to move to the UK. My grandma was from Edinburgh, Scotland. This made me eligible for an Ancestry UK Visa. By 23 I had my ancestry visa approved & moved to the UK. After travelling the country I decided to settled in Bristol, England. I have now been here for 5 years as of dec 2020.
From a very young age I have had an interest in film & tech. I got my first video camera for my 12th Birthday. I don’t have any degrees, or certificates. I do have a lot of life experience.
I currently work in digital media for the restaurant industry. In Bristol, Bath, Exeter, Southampton & Cardiff.
My major goal in life is to see as much as the world as possible before I die.
I set up this personal blog in 2014 whilst living and looking after my Grandma in Australia. The idea was to write and share my experiences and stories travelling the world to my friends and family. I decided I could probably share my knowledge and help out other travellers along the way too
Due to the Covid-19 crisis, I’ve had to relocate back to Australia.
